H&M Move Partners with Carbon Capture Firm LanzaTech

H&M Move, an activewear brand, has collaborated with material science firm LanzaTech to produce garments partially containing captured carbon emissions.
This game-changing partnership seeks to challenge the boundaries of sustainable sportswear, utilizing LanzaTech’s CarbonSmart polyester, a material made from repurposed carbon emissions, combined with H&M Move’s exclusive DryMove technology which eliminates moisture from the body to ensure athletes stay dry and comfortable whilst in motion. This release includes a jumpsuit, top and a pair of tights, all crafted from CarbonSmart polyester and enhanced with a DryMove finish.
“In collaboration with LanzaTech, we are thrilled to offer our customers a capsule collection made of CarbonSmart polyester, a ground-breaking material using repurposed carbon emissions. This partnership enables H&M Move to explore innovative materials and playing our part in helping to create more sustainable sportswear in the future,” said Simon Brown, general manager at H&M Move.
Jennifer Holmgren CEO of LanzaTech, adds: “The innovations in the textile industry today focus on sustainability for a better world. We are proud to partner with H&M Move on this drop which reflects ways to rethink how we make and how we experience our clothing.”
With this venture, H&M Move is taking the initiative to create a more sustainable future for the sportswear sector, showcasing that pioneering solutions can be implemented to lessen the environmental effects of apparel production. By merging captured carbon emissions with the most advanced material science, H&M Move and LanzaTech are laying the foundations for a new age of sustainable sportswear that has fashion, performance, and eco-friendliness at its core.
